Hightlights of this tour:
Day 1:
- Depart from Stellenbosch/Cape Town/Airport
- Travel R44 with a tea stop in Porterville
- Citrusdal and off to the Rooibos Tea Farm Elandsberg
- Lunch on the farm, weather pmeritted:lunch in a cave! Visit to the rooibos tea factory
- Sleep Melkboomsdrift – farm accommodation outside Vredendal
Day 2:
- Depart early – travel via the spectacular Van Rhyns Pass to Niewoudtville
- Visit the flower farms Biekoes and/or Matjiesfontein
- Lunch will be a picnic wherever the flowers are the best
- 15:00 Depart and travel all the way to Springbok
- Sleep Blue Diamond Lodge, Springbok – dinner in the guesthouse
Day 3:
- Visit Nababeep Mine Museum – enjoy the most spectacular flower display
- Visit Guchab Nature Reserve/Hester Malan Garden
- Lunch: Picnic out in the veld
- If time allows, we visit Concordia to enjoy the rare rock formation of the Orbicular “Koppie”
- Dinner and accommodation: Blue Diamond Lodge, Springbok
Day 4:
- Travel south with a stop in Garies enjoy a cup of tea in the popular farm stall run by Sonja and her team. What an experience!
- Visit the farm Kersefontein
- Visit the Kernsvlakte
- Enjoy and relax the afternoon on the farm Melkboomsdrift
- Dinner on the farm
Day 5:
- Early birds! We travel via Clanwilliam, the Pakhuis Pass down into the Biedouw Valley
- Late lunch in Clanwilliam – if time allows, a quick visit to the Ramskop Garden, Clanwilliam
- Back to Cape Town/Stellenbosch
