Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

The Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is devoted to indigenous plants, including some of the species of protea and fynbos that make up the unique Cape Floral Kingdom. Of special note is the Cycad Ampitheatre, sanctuary for most of southern Africa's 20-odd of a plant type that first appeared 150 million years ago and reached its ascendancy about 80 million years later, during the last age of the dinosaurs. A worthwhile visit and a must for all plant lovers.
